The theme for the first half of the webinar will explain the benefits of OTE and the lessons learned from the Brompton’s experience of “on table extubation” (OTE) over the last ten years. How the practice has expanded from paediatrics and ACHD through to general adult cardiac surgery. We will then discuss the evolution to minimal access cardiac surgery and the role of regional anaesthesia in pain management and post-operative recovery.
This will be followed by an open discussion with delegates to share their own strategies and techniques for successful on Table extubation.
Dr Suliman will discuss novel imaging techniques for using ultrasound to assess venous congestion.
Professor Price is a pioneer of critical care echocardiography and the management of cardiogenic shock and will be teaching us how to optimise cardiac function using pacing in the peri-operative setting.
