Message from the Committee Chair

Please join us at the Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Critical Care Annual Scientific Meeting in London on 18th & 19th June 2026 to be hosted at 1 Wimpole Street, within the Royal Society of Medicine, London.

The theme of the 42nd ACTACC Annual Scientific Meeting is Exploring the Frontiers of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Critical Care: Innovation, Education & Outcomes.

We will host eminent speakers and panel members from wide ranging areas including cardiothoracic anaesthesia & surgery, transplantation, intensive care medicine, monitoring, machine learning, ECMO, echocardiography and clinical outcomes. We plan to run hands-on workshops, including ECMO, TOE and Regional Anaesthesia, and have industry sponsored symposia on both days as well as a variety of topics such as Machine Learning and AI, Mechanical Circulatory Support, ECPR, Critical Care, Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery and Postoperative Outcomes.

The popular ACTACC abstract and poster sessions give trainees the opportunity to present their research in a peer reviewed environment with the best selected for the award prizes.

The topics for the two days will be selected to highlight the importance of innovation in the delivery of perioperative care and showcase recent advances and controversies in care. Delegates from varying backgrounds including consultants, trainees, SAS doctors, perfusionists and nurses are expected to attend. We expect around 200 delegates on each day from the UK and abroad.

There will be a Gala Networking Dinner on the Thursday evening where industry, delegates
and faculty are invited to attend.
