Professor Ronelle Mouton is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Southmead Hospital; an honorary Professor of Anaesthesia at the University of Bristol; and a NIHR Senior Clinical & Practitioner Research Fellow.  She is a past Chair of  the Vascular Anaesthesia Society of Great Britain & Ireland (VASGBI) and awarded the Royal College of Anaesthetists & VASGBI Macintosh Professorship in 2024.


Her research interests include collaborative clinical trials and peri-operative interventions to improve patient outcomes, especially in high-risk patients such as the elderly and in emergency and vascular surgery. She currently leads the  PROTECTOR and COSMIC projects on peri-operative smoking cessation and is co-chief investigator for an NIHR HTA multicentre clinical trial (CAMELOT).
