Dr Joe Arrowsmith, Formerly - Consultant in Adult Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia & Intensive Care 1998-2024.

Dr Arrowsmith qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School, London in 1985.

He trained in general medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in London and south-east England; earning specialist accreditation in anaesthesia in 1996.

From 1996-1998 he was as a visiting consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and surgical critical care at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, USA.

Dr Arrowsmith is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, a Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

He is registered with both the UK General Medical Council and the Malta Medical Council.

Dr Arrowsmith's professional interests include perioperative transoesophageal echocardiography, the medical applications of information technology and the neurological complications of cardiac surgery. He has lectured and published widely on topics in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and is a co-author of the textbook 'Core Topics in Cardiac Anesthesia'. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Anaesthetists, European Society of Anaesthesiology and General Medical Council.

Dr Arrowsmith lives in Cambridgeshire. He enjoys cycling, boating and recreational SCUBA diving.
