FICE and Lung Ultrasound Course

Aim of course
• To gain theoretical and practical skills in focused echocardiography and basics of chest ultrasound and ultrasound guided intervention in Critical Care setting
• Being able to identify and differentiate main cardiac pathologies, normal thoracic anatomy from common diseases

Day to include
Presentations plus hands-on sessions:
• How to scan and get basic views
• Cardiac chambers function assessment
• Pericardial effusion and tamponade
• How to recognise and differentiate a pleural effusion
• Lung parenchima pathology
• Identify the basic 2D sonography of Lung US as A-Lines, B- Lines, Lung Sliding, and Lung Point & Lung Pulse.
• Hands-on work stations with volunteers and real patients

Who should attend?
• Trainees and Consultants in Intensive Care, Anaesthesia, Acute or Emergency Medicine

Registration fees
£525.00 – places are limited so early booking is essential. Course dinner included in the fee. Limited number of Royal Papworth trainee places (inclusive of course dinner). Limited number of Day 1 only and Day 2 only tickets also available (exclusive of course dinner)
